Originally posted on 27 August. Scroll down for updates.TD Midge Sinnaeve, developer of the script and other tools for 3ds Max, has released 15 free hi-res tree models in FBX format. The models are available in two packs: one of ten ‘generic’ trees (that is, not modelled on any actual species) for quickly populating scenes; and one of five model spruce trees, shown in the render above.Neither set of models comes with textures, but they do have material IDs and UVs already assigned, which should make texturing easier. The models were created with, Exlevel’s tree-generation system.Updated 30 September: Midge Sinnaeve has released five new models of birch trees. This time, textures are included, with a displacement map for the tree bark and diffuse, specular and bump maps for the leaves.Updated 21 October: The latest update adds five models of cherry trees in blossom. Again, the models are in FBX format complete with textures.

Cherry Blossom In Japan

This is a tree branch modeled after the Japanese Cherry Blossom. It is intended to be generated by the thousands on a tree model as a particle system. I have included the original version, a decimated version, and the individual plant elements. There is also an copy of the branch with the original particle systems. This was rendered using Filmic Blender. Materials may need adjusted if you are using the standard sRGB colour management. An example scene with this branch can be viewed here: https://www.artstation.com/artwork/LWO1K.
